Galeamopus is a more recently discovered diplodocid sauropod from the famous Late Jurassic Morrison Formation of western North America. It was a bit less gracile than Diplodocus or Barosaurus, but much less heavily built than apatosaurine diplodocids. Galeamopus contributes yet another species to an astonishing diversity of diplodocids that flourished in the Late Jurassic, and then largely vanished in the Cretaceous.
