Suskityrannus was a small tyrannosauroid from the Late Cretaceous of New Mexico. Growing to only about 1.3 meters (4 feet) long, Suskityrannus documents an early stage in tyrannosaur evolution, before the lineage produced the giant apex predators of the latest Cretaceous. Like other small tyrannosauroids, Suskityrannus was almost certainly covered in bristly, fur-like feathers.
