Guanlong is an early tyrannosauroid from the Late Jurassic of China. Far predating the giant, Late Cretaceous tyrannosaurs, Guanlong was under 4 meters (13 feet) in length, was almost certainly covered in a bristling fur-like covering, and sported a thin crest running along the midline of its snout.
