Dromaeosaurus bequeathed its name to dromaeosaurids, the group of winged, sickle-clawed ‘raptor’ theropods from the Cretaceous. Dromaeosaurus itself lived in the Late Cretaceous of Alberta, Canada. Compared to other dromaeosaurs it had an unusually robust, heavily built skull and strong bite, although it’s otherwise fairly typical compared to other Late Cretaceous dromaeosaurs.
