Triceratops is the quintessential large horned dinosaur from the latest Cretaceous of western North America, living about 68–66 million years ago. Triceratops horridus carried two long brow horns, a shorter nasal horn, and a solid bony frill. It is thought to have been a bit older than Triceratops prorsus, which may have been its direct descendant.
