A large extinct bird of the Pleistocene, related to living condors and among the many species preserved in the La Brea tar pits of California. With a wingspan of up to 4 meters (14 feet), Teratornis was a soaring predator and scavenger that died out around the end of the last Ice Age. Alas, the skeletal is in need of revision, so it has gone on vacation until I can get around to redrawing it.
