Neovenator was a large, predatory theropod found in the Early Cretaceous rocks of the United Kingdom, most famously on the Isle of Wight. While originally thought to be a close relative of Allosaurus, it has since been moved a bit upstream, being consistently found to be a basal member of the large, Cretaceous allosauroids known as Carcharodontosauria.

At around 7.5 m (23 feet) long, Neovenator was about the average size of an Allosaurus, or for that matter other basal carcharodontosaurians - belying that some members of their clade would grow to be among the largest theropods to ever walk the Earth.
