Corythoraptor was an oviraptorosaur theropod from the Late Cretaceous of southern China, notable for a tall, cassowary-like head crest. The bony crest likely served in display or species recognition rather than in feeding. Like other oviraptorosaurs it almost certainly had wings and a tail fan, and may have brooded the eggs they laid in nests on the ground.
