A small (for a sauropod) armored titanosaur from the Late Cretaceous of Argentina. Saltasaurus had bony osteoderms scattered across its body; it was the first clear example that some sauropods were armored like thyreophoran dinosaurs. The skeleton is shown here in both dorsal (top) and lateral (side) views, though without the armor, whose life positioning is not fully resolved.
