Magyarosaurus was a titanosaur that lived on a series of islands in the Late Cretaceous of what is today Romania. The isolated Hațeg Island fauna had several features that differed from mainland dinosaur faunas, including insular dwarfism. Magyarosaurus reached only 6 m (20 feet) in length, which is quite small for a titanosaur. Insular dwarfism is a process where large-bodied lineages evolve smaller size in the limited resources of an island.
