Kentrosaurus was a stegosaur from the Late Jurassic of Tanzania, where it was found in the famous rock beds of the Tendaguru Formation. Kentrosaurus had paired plates over its neck and shoulders that gave way to paired spikes running down its back and tail. The position of another set of spikes is more controversial, with some authors preferring them on the shoulders, while others have suggested they might go on the hips. Both are presented here.
