Stangerochampsa was a small alligatorid from the Late Cretaceous of Alberta, Canada, part of the early diversification of the alligator lineage in North America. Stangerochampsa had a moderately broad snout and a mix of pointed and blunter teeth, suggesting a generalized, opportunistic diet. Some studies have recovered it at the base of the alligator group leading to caimans.
