An Early Jurassic marine crocodylomorph, Macrospondylus was a thalattosuchian from the Toarcian seas of Europe. Long known as “Steneosaurus” bollensis, Macrospondylus had a slender, elongate gharial-like snout lined with sharp teeth for seizing fish, and reached about 5 meters (16 feet) in length.
